Good sales jobs can be hard to find. That elusive combination of a strong support network (without someone constantly over your shoulder), a solution you can believe in that people actually want, and a culture of celebrating the small wins just as much as the big is the holy grail - I’m lucky to have found it here at Arctic Shores.
If you’re somebody that wants to be something more than a small cog in a big machine, then Arctic Shores is the place for you. The Leadership team take a real interest in the development of all employees, and promoting from within is actively encouraged. After 9 months of being in an SDR role and achieving my targets, I was encouraged to apply for an Account Executive opening. Not only did I get the job, I also was thoroughly coached by the CEO himself.
To sum it up, a little story: It’s the last day of my first full quarter as an AE. I've been chasing down a deal for the past couple of months, but the signature date was getting pushed and pushed. The whole team came together to brainstorm ideas and think of ways to get it over the line - we pulled out all the stops, but 17:30 rolled around with no signature. I was a little dejected, but the team encouraged me to pack up my laptop and head to the pub. Everybody was toasting the end of the quarter with success stories across the team, when suddenly our Head of Business Development runs over on the phone and tells me to check my emails.
Lo and behold, there it is.
18:19 and the signature comes through, I set up a hotspot through my mobile and log onto my laptop in the beer garden to finalise the deal, and the team erupts in cheers around me. Next thing you know, a couple of minutes later our CEO comes bounding up the street towards us, his head bobbing above the Thursday evening crowd. He’s grinning ear-to-ear and practically leaps on me to congratulate me on my first deal, which helped us hit a key milestone as a business.
I was elated, everyone had pulled together and I could see the whole team genuinely happy for my success. It’s a moment I’ll remember for a long time, and hopefully the first of many to come.
