Senior UX Designer – Manchester

As part of our Manchester team expansion, Arctic Shores are hiring for a creative Senior UX designer to join our Product Team! As our Senior UX Designer you will be a natural in researching, analysing a devising a UX catalogue, as well as assessing the target market to understand the business value. You will be working heavily with the Product Team as they will help define, manage and control all UX Research and the resulting output, focusing on contributing to demonstrable improvements to the product.

 Day to Day Activities include:

  • Taking responsibility for the user experience design of all client sites and app
  • Managing all forms of requirement gathering, user research, and usability testing, ensuring the best methods are selected for each project and client
  • Producing usable research output to influence the design and implementation of features.
  • Working in conjunction with the Product Team to deliver the best possible product for all users
  • Driving the creation of wireframes, prototypes, user flow diagrams and interaction designs
  • Gathering and evaluating user requirements, in collaboration with product managers and engineers
  • Illustrating design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps
  • Guiding and providing data to support user interface elements, like menus, tabs and widgets

Other Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Developing and maintaining an overview of the UX touch points across the product suite, identifying key pain points for particular personas, and designing trackable improvements
  • Managing the UX priority roadmap, identifying the highest value areas of improvement, and working with the Product Managers and Engineers to address these in a prioritised manner 
  • Creating and managing comprehensive documentation for the research that is carried out, ensuring that is easily digestible and shared appropriately with relevant stakeholders
  • Delivering all UX workshops that are needed to help identify, capture and prioritise focus across the product suite

The Must Haves:

  • English language; written and spoken skills
  • Excellent Project Management and Organisation Skills
  • Report writing skills
  • Good knowledge of wireframing, prototyping and user testing tools  
  • Good interpersonal / user relationship management skill
  • User focus & ability to deliver excellent results
  • Innovative thinking and intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Key commercial awareness, you will need to have adaptability to quickly read and understand our business, while navigating and operating within its constraints
  • Self-starting, ability to operate independently and identify solutions to problems
  • Learning Agility, as this role will require continual self-learning and development, as we are looking for someone to build up our UX function
